Learn to fly

To be a member of the Southern Hang Glider Club, you must be a qualified pilot. If you want to learn to fly, you must attend a school first. The following Hang Gliding and Paragliding schools can teach you to fly, or take you up for a tandem flight. Please contact them directly.

As of the 1st January, 2015, the club requires that all new paraglider pilots have not only gained their CP rating, but have also done the practical exercises of top and slope landings. These must be signed off in their pilot task book. Please check with your school that their training includes these practical exercises, before you commit to a school.
