Submitting a flight to the XC leagues

The flight diaries are linked to the cross-country tables.

Fill in a flight diary as described above, then open up the XC Flight Details section by clicking on it. Fill in the fields presented to you there. They should be self-explanatory. The claimed distance must be in km. Entering any non-zero value here will create an entry in the league. The actual distance will be calculated from the turn-points entered. If you enter a triangle flight, the program will calculate the distance from turn points 1,2 and 3, ignoring the take-off and landing.

If you have a GPS trace of your flight, you may attach it to the flight diary entry by opening up the File attachments section, and using the Browse button, locate your file on your computer. Attach your file by hitting the Attach button.

Finish off my hitting the Submit button at the bottom of the form. Your flight will immediately be updated into the XC leagues. You can look these up by selecting XC Leagues in the members menu. N.B. These XC tables are quite independent of the National XC league. If you want to enter the National League, you will have to do so via the National League web site.

    • Theme configuration. We have offered you two 'themes'. Each one presents the web site contents differently. The default theme is called shgclite, and has a grey background for the text. The shgc theme has random pictures behind the text. It's a bit of a dog's dinner, but Des created it in a mad moment, because he likes dog's dinners, so you may too! In time, there may well be additional themes offered, depending on how may beers Des and I get offered.
    • Block configuration. Here you can tick off the items you want displayed in the third column of your browser window, if you have selected the shgc or shgclite themes.
