Flight details:
Forecast didn't look great, but a cold night promised some thermals in the morning, and so off to the Dyke early. Arrived to nil wind, and zillions of pilots desperate for some action. A few thermals started running up the hill, so the hill got plastered in canopies. A few light thermals started coming through, and that left most of the field floundering around the slope. I ended up in the bowl, away from the crowds. At last, a workable thermals came through, and off we go, in light lift, but finally, consistently going up. Every man and his dog take off, and while the ridge rats went up and down the ridge, the usual suspects started climbing out.

Drift was pretty slow low down, and nearly stopped 2,000 above, but clinging on to a near -zero eventually it started working better again, and base arrived at about 3,500 feet. It was really useful to have others around, so that you could see where it was working better. Great to see so many going for it, especially as the window wouldn't be very large. At base, Smurf was just above me, playing hide and seek in the white room, (very successfully, I might add), while I had to pull an ear to stop the world disappearing below. A nice glide across wind under a line of clouds, and the next thermal was over Stanmer park, just above those 3,500 feet long kites - ooh er! I didn't see any lines of string dangling around thankfully, so continued off towards Swanborough. Every time I went near the sea breeze front (very obvious convergence line) I went up, but wanting to stay away from it in case it went past me. This was a mistake - I should have gone right up to it, and stayed there. It looked like several moe had the same idea, and were paying the price. Over Swanborough now, and had the pleasure of watching a hang glider being aerotowed, and dropped off below me. Craig A showed me where some lift was to be had over Lewes, so I headed off to him, but found good lift just before, and stuck in that. Now arriving south of Cab
