Flight details: | Ok I was a bit naughty and went full cloud, but it had to be done!
Most clouds around looked pretty small so I wasn't too worried.
First few minutes in the clouds I was just having fun watching the altimeter go up and up, then I tried to straighten up and it felt really weird like you don't know where is up or down!
Started to be a little worried for how big that cloud really was :p
So anyway I kept turning until I popped out of the side of the cloud...
Oh My God! The feeling, coming out 2000 feet above cloud base, the view, I can't describe it, All the little clouds way down below me, I was in such awe that I didn't even think of taking a picture or video!
By far the most amazing experience of my life. Just unbelievable. Dreams coming true.
2 years of hard work for this, well worth all the sweating up the hill and sitting on launch for hours/days.
Felt on top of the world, thinking I can now glide anywhere I want.
...2 minutes later... I'm 600feet asl on a scratchy thermal, I stay in it for ever until I finally get to cloud base, now 1800feet, looks like a nice cloud street so I relax and go straight downwind. Put my jacket on, ready for serious flying!
...Next thing I'm losing height again and all the clouds I get to seem to be dead or dying, or I just approach them from the wrong side?
Got really low, See a brown field with forest behind it, textbook. Gnarly thermal at 200feet, so narrow I can't stay in it, plus I'm doing left turn and find it very hard to crank it up, finally I give up and land 13km from Caburn.
Not a very long flight but by far the most amazing ever.
Loving it!
