Flight details
Title: Coupe but no coup
Site:France
Pilot:Andrew Craig
Date of flight:25th September 2014
Wing type:Paraglider
Flight details:
The local cracks said four out of four (their RASP apparently doesn't go to five), but after a damp day and night base was low. Dozens gathered at the SE take-off, then over it. I followed Nigel Cooper, a local expert, to Mouchon, where we had fun playing in and out of the forming clouds until too many people joined in. Then on to the south end of Mont Coupe, but the crag at the top failed to give me enough to stay up.

What a loser, I thought as I landed, until about 15 other losers landed in my field and the ones around it.

A German pilot and I were first to the road, and were picked up by a local farmer in a Rover -- yes, a Rover! -- who had a trailer for our gliders and insisted on taking us all the way to the landing field back at St Andre.
