Flight details
Title: Devil's Dyke to Broad Oak
Site:Devils Dyke
Pilot:Peter Impey
Date of flight:20th August 2014
Wing type:Paraglider
Flight details:
Patience. So said a well known paragliding guru before I took off. So in a suitable zen-like mood of repose (undisturbed by the sight of a light aircraft flying through the Dyke some 500/750 feet below me)I wafted up to the clouds and eventually set off East. Shared thermals with Crispin and Grita, watched Carlo and Nancy tracking a bit further north, danced with Kenny later in the flight. Progress seemed slow - too much cross wind work. But very satisfying PBs for me: distance; time in the air; and, of course, maximum patience, grasshopper.

PS: ignore crazy and anomalous GPS data. Amongst interesting figures are a jump of nearly 200m from one data point to another, max ground speed of 241kmph (the glide on the Chili is good, but not that good) and max velocity (presumably the remarkably sudden and rapid climb referred to above) of over 2,000kmph. I have a Digifly Leonardo Pro as a back up and when I can find a cable for it, I'll resubmit......

22/8/14: edited to remove garbled Garmin tracklog with more realistic Digifly log.
