Flight details:
After a lot of up and down exploration out front and on both sides, managed to climb a bit with Pete Impey and Grita in a better than average thermal that was drifting quite quickly northwards. Could not quite keep up with them, and they headed east towards Newick, while I struggled to stay aloft in the Barcombe direction, eventually landing in a big empty field near a farm, which turned out to contain a horse and some cows. A rapid tactical withdrawal to the gate facilitated a conversation with a passing lorry driver, who kindly offered to take me back to Cuilfail tunnel. In fact, he would have taken me all the way down Ranscombe Lane, but was thwarted by the weight restriction. As we reached Lewes, the ever-thoughtful Pete called to see if I needed retrieving, but with the short walk after the lift, I arrived well ahead of him. In the landing field we watched Richard Osborne from the North Devon club gale hang on his Omega, and when he landed had tea and home-made biscuits with him and Annie, paying with some Oudie tips and tricks.
