Flight details: | After a hard night's work, Steve Purdie and his crew kindly waited in front of the bakery while I was mopping the floor as fast as I ever did :)
Thankfully I promised breakfast so they accepted to wait!
First time flying at Milk Hill, it is such a nice hill but very hard to get up as hill very shallow so hard to put in a 360.
I almost did a 350 by the way, not pretty :D
Watched everybody get away in small batches, got very frustrated and launched at every single swallow/swift/kite passing by.
Finally after profuse sweating, it paid off and I managed to get away!
After that all very easy just tried to be patient and fly very conservatively staying in lift all the time.
Flew above a sailplane, next to a chinook and with a Kite.
Met some other pilots on the way and thermalled together in very weak lift until we landed.
What a day!
Thankfully there were a whole bunch of not so successful pilots to come and pick me up! :D Aaah it's good to not be the loser every now and then! ;)
What I learned today: Patience and determination does pay off sometimes.
But I'm really amazed at how little it takes to get away from the hill, just a couple seconds longer in good lifty bits and you're off.
