Flight details: | Two days of weekend flying and two days of getting to cloudbase. Not that it was that hard. On Saturday Caburn was empty (where was everyone? Glastonbury? France?) and there were less than half a dozen of us but cloudbase was only about 1300' above take off. On Sunday base was higher but there was plenty of lift everywhere, sometimes too much lift and there were some stonking climbs that caused my vario to makes tones I cannot recall hearing before.
After more than an hour in the air, two trips to cloudbase and a pathetic attempt at a triangle the lure of coffee and new batteries for my screaming vario brought me back to land (although it took a while to get down).
By the time of my second flight the lift had got much fruitier and it was much windier aloft so I was happy to land after 20 minutes and then spend an hour or more watching the few still flying being hoovered about.
