Date of flight:8th June 2014
Wing type:Paraglider
Flight details:
Got away at the bottom of a big gaggle and never really caught up with the leaders. Spent a lot of time thermalling in small cores with Ked Shayer between Glyndebourne and Ringmer. Decided not to follow Mark Watts on a Mojo (yes, no mistake!) south of Ringmer gliding field, but kept drifting and climbing towards Halland. The best lift was towards airspace, but managed to maintain height below 3300 ft to Heathfield, passing Stuart and Nancy who had landed in a field between Blackboys and Heathfield. Tried to climb out by the Cross in Hand masts to turn the corner on a more northerly track, but had to keep pushing forward to climb above 2500 ft, and eventually hit the sea air and landed by Heathfield school. Walked into town, had a coffee at Costa, then hitched a lift while waiting for the bus, which took me all the way to Caburn.
