| Flight details: | Arrived around 10am. Apparently missed the nice early morning boating about from 9am. After some chatting took off for an hour of strong but tricky thermal flight, where nice lifts seemed to turn into brutal sinks in a matter of seconds. Then the wind died.
Another cycle started 20minutes later after 11am, giving a nice steady lift.
After getting to cloudbase decided to fly downwind towards W-NW towards promising clouds, but cocked up the transition due to wavering and changing direction many times. Got into an overdeveloped dark area, and slowly sank undisrupted under large, nice looking cumuluses which gave no significant lift. At least I could not find it.
Landed next to A27, hitched a lift to Lewes train station, and took the train back to Brighton.
