Title: Firle - Bo Peep - Caburn - Firle (possibly.....)
Site:Firle
Pilot:Peter Impey
Date of flight:11th April 2014
Wing type:Paraglider
Flight details:
Didn't have any firm plans when I took off. Just some flying would be fine. After a bit of yo-yoing up and down and with lift getting better, thought I'd head for Firle Beacon and Bo Peep. Rewarded with a great climb in front of the quarry up to cloudbase. So now what to do? I know - let's enter into the spirit of Foot and Fly and see if we can tick off Caburn as well. Transition no problem - got to Caburn still at 3 grand, then back to Firle to land after a bit of boating around to enjoy the view. 13 km flat triangle or 15.5 km around as many turnpoints as computer says yes to. Wing behaved very nicely (still getting used to it). One very well mannered frontal, but my fault really as I was a bit low over a potentially rotory spur and after enjoying the big dipper style whoosh up, perhaps I could have done a better job of catching it as we hit the downside. But.....from a Foot and Fly point of view, did I actually bag Bo Peep? I will let others be the judge of that.......
