Flight details:
Another nice day for the hangies. A dozen or so out. The wind was quite strong, NNW and lifty along the Dyke-Truleigh ridge all day. The thermals felt quite disorganised and difficult to stay with above about 1,000ft ATO. It didn't help that with a balaclava under my helmet I can barely hear my vario. I probably flew the ridge about six times, extending right to the far ends. I hoped for another 1,000ft so that I could push out a bit further against the wind to make a decent triangle. There were a few of us in the air, joined by up to three sailplanes at one time, but loads of space to spread out. Three hours in the air is my longest flight to date by some margin.

I used my new magnets to mount my GoPro near the end of the wing. Then spent some time thermaling in both directions to get shots of the ground, the sky and the other gliders. About an hour into the flight I remembered that I hadn't switched the camera on before taking off. Just as well - there are only so many Dyke-Truleigh ridge runs that my viewer can take.

I finished packing up, with assistance from Luke, well after sunset and then we joined the others for a couple of hours of banter in the pub.
