Pete will talk through a number of actual XC flights from Devils Dyke, Bo Peep and Mount Caburn.
Pilot Exam Coaching Day

Coach John Finagin will give presentations on each of the BHPA pilot exam topics, followed by an exam session for those who have completed all the pilot rating tasks.

October Monthly Coaching Meeting - Selecting a Glider

Senior coach Steve Uzochukwu will give a talk on selecting suitable paragliding equipment. He has recently returned from the Coupe Icare where he has been testing manufacturers’ latest offerings.

Mental Flying

A change of plan for the September meeting at Glynde Social Club.
Robin Clark will lead a discussion on confidence and dealing with fear in the context of paragliding. To encourage free discussion the event will not be videoed, although slides may be made available afterwards. 7.30 pm for 8.00pm start.
Ked Shayer’s planned talk on thermaling will be rescheduled in the new year.
Reserve repack demo and Q&A

From SIV to Acro in Oludeniz

Indoor SIV

Steve Purdie will explain what can go wrong with your glider in flight, how to prevent it, and what to do when it inevitably happens.
This will help to prepare you for the thermic spring and summer days which are now becoming regular, whether or not you have attended a SIV course recently.

Senior Coach and paramedic Phil Clark will be our speaker at Glynde on 17 May. His talk will cover the Five Hazardous Attitudes of Flying, Competition Safety and First Aid. He will also take questions on his work as a paramedic. There should be something for everyone here so do come along. As usual we will video the event for those who can’t make it.
