| Flight details: | I left the hill in a thermal with Mark, Kenny and Vincent. They were turning left, which isn't my strongest side, but I sort of managed to stay with them all the way to cloudbase. They then left the thermal and went on a long glide going down fast. It crossed my mind that perhaps this wasn't a good line to follow, but I did anyway. I arrived rather low at Wenlock Edge, where I joined Vincent going round and round endlessly without gaining much. It seemed like a holding pattern. I was impressed by Vincent's patience and decided to stick with him. He then found some more lift, which I couldn't connect with. After that things went in the wrong direction for me. Vincent flew more east and managed a 135km flight. I went south east instead, had a few more climbs and then landed short near Loughton, 20km from take off. I should have stuck with Vincent like glue. |
