Coaching Course - Appeal for new coaches - YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU! (and your nominations).
Submitted by Hairy Dave on 14 July, 2011 - 18:07.We're hosting a BHPA Coaching Course at the Glynde Drinking Men's Club in November. The SHGC is a huge club with around 500 members and we need a lot more coaches for it to work. If you're a fairly regular pilot with CP+ 10 hours and a willingness to help others, this is for you. We also need more of the old hands so our coaching team can continue to help anyone from CP to top level pilots.

Mountain Rescue First Aid Course.
Submitted by Hairy Dave on 22 June, 2011 - 12:47.It's a sad fact that if you spend time paragliding you will one day be on the scene of an accident, possibly a serious one. It's well worth any committed pilot (and a BHPA requirement for the professionals) to be trained in first aid so you know how to help and be cool when you're doing it. Eddie has organised a proper mountain rescue based course, contact him if you're interested.

Coaches Meeting
Submitted by Hairy Dave on 7 June, 2010 - 15:37.Hello Coaches,
We're having a get together of all the coaches this friday at 7.30 pm in the glynde working mens club.
The plan is to begin a regular meet of coaches to help us all become a cohesive coaching team. We also need to find a way to develop our coaching skills, making sure we do it well and within the limits of our remit from the BHPA to ensure we stay insured in what is a very responsible activity.
If you have any particular areas of interest or concern, then please e-mail me as soon as possible and I'll get an agenda published in advance.
Hope to see you there,
Dave.

Zip Wire and Parachute Repack Day
Submitted by davem on 31 March, 2010 - 13:35.We are pleased to announce that BILL MORRIS (BHPA) will be attending our next repack day on Saturday 24th April to give a talk and demo on reserve deployment and repacking. Limited numbers will ensure that all those attending are given plenty of time to practice on the zip wire and are offered help with repacking their reserve parachute afterwards with Bill and a team of helpers. Spaces are still available for both morning and afternoon sessions. Further details below:

I plan to run 10k for Cancer Research....
Submitted by Anne on 15 April, 2009 - 16:42.....well, will probably
be closer to a jog if I am being honest
:-)
I have signed up for
the 10k Race for Life in aid of Cancer Research UK in Brighton on the 5th
July. If you can spare any money to sponsor me then please go to my
fundraising page where you can donate online. No amount is too small and
it will help motivate me as I slog along at a snails pace on what will no doubt
be the best flying day of the year!
