Coaches Meeting
Submitted by Hairy Dave on 7 June, 2010 - 15:37.Hello Coaches,
We're having a get together of all the coaches this friday at 7.30 pm in the glynde working mens club.
The plan is to begin a regular meet of coaches to help us all become a cohesive coaching team. We also need to find a way to develop our coaching skills, making sure we do it well and within the limits of our remit from the BHPA to ensure we stay insured in what is a very responsible activity.
If you have any particular areas of interest or concern, then please e-mail me as soon as possible and I'll get an agenda published in advance.
Hope to see you there,
Dave.

I plan to run 10k for Cancer Research....
Submitted by Anne on 15 April, 2009 - 16:42.....well, will probably
be closer to a jog if I am being honest
:-)
I have signed up for
the 10k Race for Life in aid of Cancer Research UK in Brighton on the 5th
July. If you can spare any money to sponsor me then please go to my
fundraising page where you can donate online. No amount is too small and
it will help motivate me as I slog along at a snails pace on what will no doubt
be the best flying day of the year!

Many
thanks,

First Aid course
Submitted by Hairy Dave on 23 March, 2009 - 12:46.We've got Nigel Smee from Mediact coming to give a specialist first aid course for those of us who might have to deal with an incident in remote areas. It's a very well done and interesting course, also quite fun.
All instructors must do such courses and I would highly recommend it to all pilots - accidents are a fact in this and other outdoor sports and it's good to have the knowledge to confidently deal with an injured person, and to know that your friends know what to do in case it's you.

Beachdown Festival 2008
Submitted by davem on 2 June, 2008 - 23:40.From http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/others2008/beachdown/
Beachdown Festival will set up camp on the outskirts of Brighton, (just behind Devil's Dyke!) set on the South Downs in East Sussex, this August Bank Holiday, from Friday 22nd – Monday 25th August.
The parking facilities will be located off site, so as not to disturb or damage the natural environment of the south downs. Car parks will be utilised at the nearby Hickstead Showground and at Shoreham Airport, where buses will ferry festival goers from their car directly to the camp site.
