The next cub coaching meeting will be held (as always) at Glynde Social Club on August 28th at 7.30pm. The topic will be harnesses, and Tim King has kindly agreed to give a talk and guidance on the subject.

This will be a great chance for us all to understand more about how to set up a harness properly, what harness is best for the wing we fly, how each harness affects the performance of our wing and so on.

You will be more than welcome to bring your harness along to get help in setting it up properly and have it looked at by someone who knows what they are talking about.

The SHGC Summer Bash will be held at Airworks on Saturday August 30th.
There is plenty of 'continental' style camping. ie., where you pitch the tent
with a club hammer. Really it is more suited to camping in vehicles or
self-supporting tents, such as the (£29ish) Quechua/Millets 2 second tent.
There is currently a small area of grass available, by the river bridge,
enough to accommodate about five small tents. Please do not pitch in the
surrounding fields as we are still seeking permission.
We aim to provide a marquee, music, some beer, barbecues for you to cook your

Open RRC Competition 2008: This will be bigger and earlier in the year this time. Again, although an informal and fun affair, it will include challenges and tasks for pilots of all levels of ability, with worthwhile prizes. Sunday 31st August is the day you need to put in your diary, with September 6th & 7th as reserve dates if the weather is naff.
Fly safely - Bernard.

What with the cancellation of the HomeGrown, there is at least an alternative. The Avon Club are running the annual Mere Bash, about 30 miles south of Bristol. Its a mega fun event, and we will have three bands this year, in our marquee. Cheap beer, bouncy Castle for the kids, and a good laugh is guaranteed, whatever the weather.

Feel free to come on down.
